Presentation in Assistive Technology for stroke survivors in Acute Care was held in St. Rose Hospital, Hayward, CA in December 2017.
The audience for this In-service were Orthopedic physicians, Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech Pathologists, and volunteers in the hospital. This In-service was a one-hour long presentation with Q & A time for 15 minutes. From this experience, I learned how to present and share thoughts and ideas with clinical professionals and educate them with up-to-date research-based evidence treatment plans.
Reflection
This presentation helped me to develop my skills more in-depth about patients’ needs during Stroke rehabilitation. The types of adaptive equipment helped the multi-disciplinary teams to provide in-depth resources to the patients during a hospital stay. 15 people attended the presentation. This presentation inspired me to have a specific topic in my competence project, and lead me to complete a product throughout the classes.
