My Name is Yun Chung and I am a registered occupational therapist and completed my Master’s in Occupational Therapy from the University of Florida in 2014 and finished an OTD at New York University.
My education and professional background in the two countries. This has provided me with exceptional knowledge and skills to be able to help clients from various cultures achieve a higher quality of life. I speak both Korean and English fluently and I have experience with multidisciplinary healthcare teams and, individual client-centered care.
I wanted to study more in-depth about Occupational Therapy, especially in the field of stroke. My goal was to regain my knowledge professionally to practice in the acute care setting in the hospital. I have decided to apply for a Doctor of Occupational Therapy at New York University to satisfy my goal and develop myself into a more knowledgeable and professional therapist. Taking various continuing education courses, providing presentations to people in healthcare fields, exploring different cultures, creating stroke programs for clients with strokes, and studying for my doctorate in occupational therapy has allowed me to bring my knowledge of research in stroke rehabilitation up to date. I also learned about the process of research in clinical practice at a deeper level. This will improve my theoretical- and research-based assessment and intervention in my practice.
