The goal of this website is to explore how the counterculture of downtown New York allowed for artistic self-expression as well as collaboration, and revealing the romanticism of the community versus the gritty reality.

This website will navigate through 5 different locations that were central in Just Kids. Those location being: Coney Island, Washington Square Park, Max’s Kansas City, Hotel Allerton and Hotel Chelsea. 

This map includes all of the important locations with the exception of Coney Island.
