A Letter from the Editors

Dear Readers,

We are thrilled to welcome you back for another year of the Wagner Planner. As the semester begins, we are excited to bring you stories from across the planning field and fresh perspectives from Wagner students.

The Planner’s leadership will look slightly different from years past. Rather than one Editor-In-Chief, the three of us will be taking the reins as Co-Editors from the incomparable Patrick Spauster, who we were lucky to work with and learn from last year. Under Patrick’s leadership, the Planner covered everything from affordable housing to language accessibility on public transportation to zoning reform to the potential magic of a daily commute. We hope to build on this work and continue other key initiatives from years past, including the Planner Podcast and the staff bi-weekly newsletter.

One of the reasons we love planning is that it is all encompassing: our cities are impacted by almost every issue facing our world today. We see the Planner as a place for Wagner students to delve into their specific passions, insights, ideas, and experiences. Whether it is from a class project, the workplace, or personal curiosity, we invite students to share their stories and consider joining our staff or submitting a guest piece via the pitch form or email at wagnerplanner@nyu.edu

If you are a new or returning student interested in becoming a staff writer, the application is available here. The due date is Friday October 6 at 11:59pm

You can follow along on Twitter, LinkedIn, and Instagram. Feel free to reach out to any of us directly with any questions or ideas.

Cheers to the new year!
