Title: Anti-labelling
B. PROJECT STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
Topic: Gender stereotype
I often see gender stereotype not only in life but also online. It seems that males should be strong, brave, rational, and good at STEM, while females should be weak, shy, emotional, and take care of kids. In my opinion, these thoughts are ridiculous. We are all people, even though there may be some physiological differences between genders, it does not mean that all men and females are the same. Even though the concept of the opposition to gender stereotypes has risen nowadays, many people still not be aware of being labeled due to their characteristics. I saw hosters asking what’s your favorite male and female features, psychological tests about if you are more like a boy or a girl, and so on. Therefore, I want to create an interactive test that seems to help the users distinguish their gender but actually announces that the results are not important at all.
The computer screen shows the questions and the user presses the button or uses the slide potentiometer to show if the adjective meets his or her features. After the whole test, the program will run based on the gender stereotype and show the bar graphs of male and female tendencies. Then, the results will be covered by text telling the user that you can be who you want to be no matter your gender. This project is for everyone because we are soaked in a world full of stereotypes and all of us can change our concepts to make these disappear.

Title: Flourish!
B. PROJECT STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
Topic: Botany
The idea comes from my mom. There are many potted plants at home, but she always forgets to take care of them. Since they do not consist of many places and are located in front of a window on the ground, she rarely sees them when wandering at home. Therefore, the plants widow easily so she has to buy new plants to alternate.
I pop out an idea that helps people who grow plants at home to take care of them every day. If the plant does not get enough watering, the vibration motor would keep vibrating and the computer screen will show a widowed plant to remind the user to pay attention to the real plant. If the user does a great job, the screen will represent a flourishing plant to encourage keep maintaining.

Title: Fight for Vegetables
B. PROJECT STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
Topic: Under the pandemic
During the lockdown, almost everyone living in Shanghai has the experience of panic buying food because of the lack of resources and deliverymen. We can not go to the markets or order the food, the only method of buying vegetables is to wait at the designated time, keep tapping the screen, and hope we have the luck to snatch successfully. However, people outside Shanghai do not really understand why Shanghai people need to repeat the process every day and do not take it seriously. As a result, I decided to design a confronting game for snatching the food.
At first, the users pressed the force-sensitive sensor to grab the food to their shopping cart. Then, at six a.m., they need to keep pressing the button as quickly as they can to fight for a quota of transport. What is worse, the food in the cart may disappear, which means they are out of supply. The loser would receive the reminder, “See you tomorrow”. I think this game is ironic and significant. For people living in Shanghai, this is their life, which shows black comedy. For other people, this is an opportunity to experience a normal day under the pandemic, and remind them to cherish and store their food.
