You’ve Got to be Brave, Brave, Brave was originally presented as a social media campaign celebrating the intersection of Black History and Women’s History Months in February and March 2021. The original posts have been adapted to short videos and shared here as a way to continue to engage audiences. Viewers are invited to test their knowledge of notable figures past and present via these engagements that feature images, quotations, and verbatim performances. Each artifact is intended as an educational resource to stimulate continued conversation around the importance of intersectionality as it relates to identity.
Do you know the history behind the Artifact?
We rarely get the credit, but we understand the consequences.
Chucks & Pearls
Shallow understanding…absolute misunderstanding
What does it mean to be human?
Breaking through…holding it open
The doors that have been opened
The weight of multiple oppressions
I collect forgotten histories
Advocating for justice
That’s gonna make you tired, tired, tired.
