The human world carries on its relentless march towards the “future”. History  continues its amnesia. We are still into the already old order while handed with the choice of a  new order. Information and data that bombarded us. What do we find as “home”?  The imagery of this painting is inspired by one classic scene from the Chinese film Long Day’s  Journey Into Night (2017).

A friend of my father lent me his living room as my studio in summer 2020. A year  ago, Mr. Xie and his family had lived for 20 years. They weren’t financially doing good for the  past years, and the turning point was 2019 when Mr. Xie’s business did surprisingly well. And so  they moved away from here and started their new life. The layout of the apartment stayed how it  was a year ago. The apartment was on sale and is sold now.
