Produced for a fundamental course currently remote due to Covid-19, Strained took form in my cramped dorm room and is inspired by this limiting space. The ambiguous and colliding shapes in this work reference the multitude of purposes my room now serves: a place to rest, a lonely dining room, a classroom, an art studio; all of which converge and clash, entrapping me against my attempt to escape.
