Sarah is a Master’s student in urban planning at Wagner, specializing in housing and economic development, and is the 2018 Gallatin Global Fellow in Urban Practice in New York City. She received her Bachelor’s degree in architecture in 2016 from Ain Shams University in Cairo and continues to work in architecture and urban development. Her research work focuses on inequality, gentrification, and the politics of space in the context of design and governance. Sarah will be working with the Women’s Housing and Economic Development Corporation (WHEDco) to establish a community needs assessment for the Crotona Park East neighborhood in the Bronx.
