My name is Mariyamou Drammeh and I am a fourth-year student at NYU studying sociology and minoring in social public policy. As a South Bronx native, I have developed a deep interest in advocacy work that serves and empowers the underserved communities I’ve been apart of. I am elated to be working with African Communities Together this summer as a research fellow as I’ll be conducting historical research on African immigrant communities in NYC, in an effort to elevate the stories and existence of a vibrant community that has shaped city life.
