My name is Kate, and I’m a graduate student in NYU’s Archives and Public History MA program. My academic focus is on the fundamental combination of these two fields, essentially how the history preserved by archival repositories can be made more accessible and usable in creative ways. I am interested in collecting and promoting the histories and stories of under-documented communities and identities within the historical record, and am curious about how this work combines with place and space, cultural heritage, and memory studies. I am always excited to be exploring new places, riding my bicycle, learning something from a book or a podcast, and watching live music.
I am also a 2018 Gallatin Global Fellow in Urban Practice! You can find out more information about the Global Fellowship in Urban Practice at https://gallatin.nyu.edu/academics/awardsandhonors/urbanpracticefellowship.html.
