I am a rising Senior in the Gallatin School of Individualized Study concentrating on a Humanities Based Approach to Environmental Studies, with a special emphasis on Environmental Justice, and a minor in Spanish. My area of concentration is focused on the way climate change disproportionately impacts underrepresented communities especially in urban areas, through the study of ethics and sociology, as well as large-scale solutions in Green Design. This summer, for my 2018 Gallatin Global Fellowship in Urban Practice, I am working with the Loisaida Center, a Latinx cultural preservation center that focuses on maintaining The Lower East Side’s cultural integrity and Latinx background. Through this fellowship I hope to focus on the history of community gardens, public housing, urban sustainability, and forced displacement.
