UAE Plant and Environment Society
Welcome to the United Arab Emirates Plant and Environment Society (UPES), an assembly of distinguished scientists, researchers, environmental activists, and community members representing various institutions and non-governmental organizations across the Gulf region. Our focus is centered on comprehensive exploration and research within the realms of plant biology, ecology, and climate change. Through a multifaceted approach, we aim to contribute significantly to the advancement of knowledge in these critical domains, fostering collaboration and synergy among experts and stakeholders. Together, we strive to address complex challenges, promote environmental stewardship, and advance our understanding of the intricate relationships shaping the plant life, ecosystems, and responses to climate dynamics.
Mission and Vision
Our mission is to promote developments in plant research, disseminate scientific technologies, and actively engage with the community to enhance crop production, foster a secure and harmonious ecosystem, and address challenges related to climate change. Aligned with our vision at the Center for Genomics and Systems Biology (CGSB) at New York University Abu Dhabi, we aim to create a dynamic hub dedicated to addressing challenges in the United Arab Emirates and the Gulf region through idea exchange, dialogue, and a commitment to innovation and excellence. By actively participating in regular seminars and workshops, we aspire to contribute significantly to the development of sustainable practices and the preservation of our environment for future generations.
Topics of Interest
We are interested in the following areas in no particular order:
