Choi is a Junior in School of Gallatin, studying Law and Postcolonial Theory. He is a visiting student from Washington Square, taking a semester break from the grimes of the city, basking in the beautiful spring weather of Abu Dhabi. Choi lived mostly in his hometown of Incheon, Korea, but has lived in places like Oklahoma, Massachusetts, District of Columbia, and New York. After matriculation, he intends to go study more about law and the culture surrounding it, so he can help the people who don’t need laws. |
I’m a sophomore majoring in Visual Arts with a minor in Natural Science and Design. I recently fell in love with Design and am exploring as much as I can to fully immerse myself into it. I also love handling software like Illustrator, InDesign and After Effects which I am new to, but it feels good to be thrown out to these software because I like the feeling of finding my own way through them. I honestly don’t know how much I’m going to learn through this course but I’m ready to give my best in all ways possible.

I am a first year student at NYU Abu Dhabi. My main passions embrace almost all kinds of artistic endeavors such as drawing, painting and photography. I have been dealing with calligraphy and lettering arts for the fifth year now. Besides opening space for my obsession with handwriting and handwritten calligraphy, I am enrolled in the class to widen my knowledge of digital softwares and gain an insight into the process of creating a new, own typeface. |
Hello! My name is Quim Paredes and I’m a first-year student in New York University Abu Dhabi. I hope to major in Art History and Practice and minor in Interactive Media and Design. I’m most comfortable creating art pieces with a pen and ink or acrylic paint on canvas and prefer creating pieces in the imaginary realm. Some of the key aspects of most of my pieces are bright, bold colors and striking outlines. In my Types of Art class, I hope to add another form of media to my art repertoire and discover the importance of fonts and typography in our everyday life. |
