The presentation will cover some of the User Experience and Usability work being conducted at NYU. User Experience is still in in its infancy at NYU. The NYU UX group has been setup to help groups with UX work. The group is trying to set up a community of practice. Starting with sharing documents and research techniques. Hopefully expanding to regularly scheduled usability tests that can be booked for any project. We plan to conduct some A/B testing during the presentation and share the results at the end of the day.

LITS Box / Google Drive Migrations
Library ITS is piloting a project to migrate departmental data to NYU Box, a secure content sharing and collaboration service. Currently, departmental data is maintained on Library servers/network and remote access is challenging. Box is especially suited for storing sensitive and restricted data. Users can assign collaborators and levels of access. Staff gain cloud- based access to their content, including from mobile devices.
Library ITS is migrating staff personal drives to Google Drive via Google’s sync tool and Group Policies. Google Drive makes document and project collaboration easy. As with NYU Box, staff gain cloud- based access to their content, including from mobile devices.
