Stage Management & Production Design |
Molly Litvin is a rising senior at Trevor Day School in New York City. She fell in love with theatre in eighth grade, and for the past five years she has been focusing on stage management in theatre, dance, concerts, cabarets, and school wide events. She also has experience in directing, writing, lighting design, sound design, and set & props. Molly is a musician that plays a variety of instruments, competes nationally in jazz ensembles, and loves playing in pit bands. When she’s not working in the theatre, as a blackbelt, Molly teaches Taekwondo in public schools around Manhattan. She is a proud member of the 2020 Tisch School of the Arts Summer High School Program for Production and Design. Her favorite band is The Beatles, her favorite color is blue, and she can never choose a favorite movie or song!

Production Management/Budgeting:

Image on the right: the changes I would make to my drama department.
-My Mission Statement for The Sally A. Rocker Theatre, located at Trevor Day School, New York City.
-The four point plan I drafted explaining the changes I would make to my drama department.
-This is a pretend budgeting plan for set & props in a show.
Stage Management:
-This is my cue sheet for the song “Friend Like Me” from Disney’s Aladdin.
Midsummer The Musical_Rehearsal Report_Wednesday (4)
-This is a mock rehearsal report for a day of rehearsing “Midsummer The Musical”
-This is my presentation about who I am as a Stage Manager
Collaboration & Creation/Storytelling/Dramaturgy:
-This is a mood board I created for Zack’s dream.
Drafting:
-This is a finished draft of my tiny room in Cape Cod.
-Two finished drafts of a “Typical Broadway Stage”
Lighting:
-An example of day vs. night and which light sources we can control/identify and which ones we cannot.
-These are images from the final lighting project. We were tasked to use Augmented 3d in EOS Family to design a light show to a song: “Oneohtrix Point Never”- MYRIAD
Sound:
-This assignment was to record a monologue of ourselves and add sound effects. I mixed this in GarageBand. The monologue is from the play Middletown by Will Eno.
Costumes:
-A Mondrian inspired shirt showing my favorite animal, movie, song, color, etc.
-The image on the left is a dream catcher. The image on the right is a feather. Both the dream catcher and feather are made out of yarn.
-The image on the left is a cross stitching of the letter “L” for “Litvin”. The other two images are masks covered in tissue paper. The forehead is inspired by Van Gogh’s “The Starry Night”, while the mouth is inspired by Van Gogh’s “The Potato Eaters”
-The image on the left is Jaylah from Star Trek Beyond. The image on the left is my replication of Jaylah’s make up on a styrofoam head.
-Our final project was to design costumes for our version of William Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”. This is my rendition of what Titania’s costume will look like. I wanted the costumes to be loose because the show is a dance. (I ran out of purple tissue paper to make the cape).
Scenery:
-The scenery project was to build a model box with a portal, along with a tiny (to scale) person and an object. My original concept had the person and the basket. The basket is a perfect object because there are many different ways actors can interact with a basket: they can jump in and out of it, they can jump over in, and they can walk on top of it. My portal was inspired by the circular shape of the basket. The model box is made out of foam core.
Drawing & Graphics:
-These are two figure drawings done in one minute. I used charcoal and a newspaper pad. The image on the left is of a person sitting on a chair at the beach, while the drawing on the right is a person walking their dog.
-This is my ten minute figure drawing of my father. (I am pleased to say he liked it!)
-The left image is three Tone Ombre Strips. We were experimenting with different amount of water and what it does to the tone of the water color. On the right is my color wheel. It is a basic color wheel, therefore only primary, secondary, and tertiary colors are present.
-The final project was to find transformation in nature. I chose a leaf dying and then becoming reborn after a rain storm.
