Moving Triangles

There are two elements that I am interested in. The first is on line 45. The triangles move with the mouse on both the x and y coordinates. The triangles are translucent and spaced at varying distances from the mouse. The movement thus creates a dimensional effect.
The movement of the ellipses were surprising to me. Lines 120-138 is where the functionality occurs. I am intrigued by how the random configuration allows the ellipses to simulate a somewhat organic movement but I would have liked it to be a bit smoother. I had not expected them to move in a such a frenetic way. However, the movement has almost an insect-like quality which has led me to reconsider the association of accompanying triangles.
I am curious if there are associations (perhaps narrative) starting to emerge.
Moving forward I’d like to add a contextual layer to the sketch, such as altering slightly to compose an animated scene.
