I chose the story—“The Adventure of Tintin” for several reasons. First of all, this is one of my favorite books when I was a child, and I was really fascinated with its story. Secondly, this story is so famous that it was adopted into many cartoons and even films. Therefore, I think the people who visit my project can have a strong resonation with the story itself. Thirdly, this story actually has a whole series of 24 different stories, which makes me feel that there will be a large space for me to create my project.

Week 5: Review on reading_Understanding Comics-Tina Zhangre
In this comic, I feel very inspiring, especially on the definition of comics. Previously, I shared the same idea with most people that comics is an art-form that tells a story with pictures and words. However, the idea that comics are actually much more that really shocked me. Comics do not have to relate to paper, ink, and print; comics do not even have to contain words. Also, the function of icons inspired me a lot. I became wondering why when we are shown a picture of a circle with two lines and a dot in it would be undoubtedly interpreted as a face by almost all of us. This seems to be an unconscious interpretation. This inspired me that maybe I can try to use some so-called popular or familiar icons to represent a completely different idea from what we usually interpret them into.
