Obama Justice Department Appeals National Day of Prayer Ruling

Yesterday the Obama administration appealed the April 15 ruling by Wisconsin district judge Barbara Crabb that determined the National Day of Prayer unconstitutional. That should make a lot of folks, including Sarah Palin, happy.  Americans United for the Separation of Church and State writes:

Legal observers say the U.S. Department of Justice was probably obligated to take the dispute to the appeals court. When federal statutes are challenged in court, justice department lawyers are generally required to defend them.
