Reading is not-believing

Elissa Lerner: There seems to be a bit of a buzz surrounding the phenomenon of unbelieving ministers. Unsurprisingly, the hype can be traced to the March 15th release of a study from Tufts University’s Daniel Dennett. Our KtB pals picked up on it a few days ago, and Psychology Today’s theme today was about atheism and popular culture, republishing a January column on the same subject. Ironically, PT’s subject, James McAllister, had read all but Dennett’s work in the “neo-atheist canon” of Hitchens, Dawkins, and Harris, on his way to revelation.
