Report on Global Anti-Semitism

The State Department has released the first annual report on global anti-Semitism following the October Global Anti-Semitism Review Act which mandated the study of 62 countries, focusing primarily on Europe. The report finds four major sources to the rise in anti-Semitic incidents: anti-Israel sentiments that cross the line into anti-Semitism; anti-Jewish sentiments expressed by some of Europe’s growing Muslim population; criticism of the United States and globalization that “spills over to Israel and Jews”; and plain, old-fashioned prejudice.
