NYU COVID-19 INFORMATION
What is the masking policy for the 2022 conference?
Masks are encouraged but not required. For more information on University masking policies, click here.
What if I forgot to upload my proof of vaccination?
Proof of vaccination is mandatory for everyone attending the conference in person. Luckily, the university has just launched three vaccination check stations where visitors can receive clearance for NYU buildings for one week. These are open Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm:
- Gould Welcome Center (50 West 4th Street)
- NYU College of Dentistry (345 East 24th Street)
- 2 MetroTech Center Lobby (Brooklyn)
For more information on Vaccination Check Stations, click here.
Where can I get a COVID-19 test in the city?
There are many places to get a COVID test in the city; most are covered by US health insurance.
Pharmacies
Walgreens, Duane Reade, and CVS all offer appointments for COVID-19 tests, both rapid and PCR. Because pharmacies operate on a schedule and appointments can fill quickly, you may want to plan ahead and book one in advance of the conference.
Here is more information on COVID testing for each pharmacy:
Mobile stations
You may notice COVID-19 testing tents around the neighborhood. These are safe and easy to use, with rapid and PCR tests typically available. Here are some resources to locate a mobile site nearest to you:
REGISTRATION
Do I have to register/RSVP for the conference?
Due to capacity limitations, we strongly encourage everyone to RSVP for each day they plan on attending at the conference. Registration can be found on the 2022 Discard Studies website here. Each element of the conference includes the option to register for virtual attendance; you’ll receive a link an hour ahead of time.
How do I know if I’m registered for the conference?
After you register, you will receive a confirmation email with your responses and registered times. You will also receive a confirmation email the night before the conference.
Do I have to register for each day of the conference?
We strongly encourage everyone to register for each day and each event they plan to attend. Registration is divided into separate elements, including the keynote lectures, panels, and exhibitions. Registering for each event secures your place and allows more accurate overall attendance numbers.
How do I join the conference virtually?
You will receive a zoom link an hour before the event begins.
