Conference Background
The Conferences on Human Capital Innovation in Technology & Analytics have been organized annually since 2012 within the Department of Technology Management and Innovation at the NYU Tandon School of Engineering – Polytechnic Institute. Each year these Conferences focus on a different critical issue, bringing together thought leaders and experts who are at the cutting edge of Human Capital Analytics and related technologies.
This year’s critical issue is The Future of Remote Work: Insights from Analytics. During the Covid-19 pandemic, record numbers of workers moved to a remote work setting and many are still doing telework. According to the most recent BLS data, the highest percentage of firms employing remote workers were in information industries (67%), followed by professional and business services (49%). For all industries, one in ten firms have all their employees working remotely. Almost all firms expect the amount of telework to remain the same in the near future. At this year’s conference, analytics will not only be utilized to understand more about the impact of telework on workers as well as their firms, but also to identify effective interventions that organizations are using to improve the retention and attraction of talent.
Audience participants include executives, managers and professionals, who range from people analytics specialists to HR generalists, as well as faculty and students from a variety of disciplines. This is a valuable opportunity to learn from leading experts to understand how analytics can be applied in the workplace to more effectively deploy, utilize and engage talent in addressing the challenge of remote work.
