Bad news, for some reason the max upload file size on the site is now way smaller than it used to be. Unfortunately, that means no more time-lapses. That’s too bad because these are getting a lot more complicated and a lot more interesting to make. This week’s post is based off of a walk signal.
This might be my favorite so far. It’s the perfect mix between super hard to make and looking good. I especially like the stop and walk signals, I couldn’t perfectly recreate them, but I like my simplified versions better. I did have some problems though. Working on this project has made me realize that no one cares to make anything level. The lamp post, the mailbox, this, all of them weren’t level with the floor. Since all the models had to be flat, all of them end up slightly misaligned in the composite. Is it that hard for someone to walk around with a level and fix all of them? Not me of course but surely there is a market for 3-5 degree adjustments of every single piece of public infrastructure right?
