This post was a bit more difficult. Not only was making it difficult, but finding it too! This week’s post is based off a pay phone.
This week’s source object wasn’t a cylinder (a day I’ve feared of for a long time!). I still started with a cylinder though, old habits die hard. It formed the base of transmitter and receiver, and the rest was built from there. The angles were challenging to match with there being no concrete lines to follow but I think I pulled it off.
I finished the phone with a good 35 minutes on the clock and decided to make the wire too. It had been the original plan to do both but by that time I had given up on the wire because I thought it would be too complex. And now, after an extra hour of work, dealing with armatures, organizing perspectives, and involving inverse kinematics, I can indeed confirm that it was a bit too complex.
Overall this took about an hour and a half so maybe I should go simpler or just get good.
