Week 2 – Traffic Cone

Week 2 – Traffic Cone

And now instead of a cylinder, I made a cone! This week’s post is based off a traffic cone.

While it may appear simple, this week added some complexity with rotation. The base of the cone is set at an angle so that would require the cone to be rotated to match in 3D space. If I wanted to use these in the future, that would cause it to appear at that angle whenever I wanted it straight. That wouldn’t do so I instead rotated the camera itself in similar increments. It took some tinkering but I think the end result turned out well.

Similar to last week, after finishing the base, I decided it was too simple. So I decided to add the missing white lines in the form of sleeves. I guess sleeves to add detail will be a common theme.

It took around 50 minutes to finish (I timed it this time), so hopefully that means I’m getting faster.
