Zhaoxi Zhang, Ph.D. 
Zhaoxi is a Faculty Fellow in the Center of Urban Science + Progress at the Tandon School of Engineering. Zhaoxi is an urban health strategist working at the intersection of the built environment, human health, and technology. She is passionate about applying interdisciplinary knowledge and data-driven strategies for healthier urban design. Driven by a desire to address the challenges of climate change, disease, and inequality, her goal is to unite collective efforts to create healthy living environments for all people. Tamir Mendel, Ph.D.

Tamir is a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Technology of Management and Innovation, NYU Tandon School of Engineering, New York University. He studies human interaction with artificial intelligence (AI) and applies this knowledge to improve people’s online experience, safety, and productivity. Pursuing a PhD in Human-Centered Technology Innovation with a focus on Urban Science, Wen is captivated by the field’s potential to unravel complex social dynamics within cities, particularly concerning criminality and gun violence. His academic pursuit is enriched by his prior experience in the high-stakes world of finance, having contributed to the fixed income divisions at Goldman Sachs and JP Morgan. He is driven by the conviction that urban science not only enhances our understanding of urban environments but also offers actionable insights for making cities more livable, sustainable, and resilient. Jiayi Weng (Summer 2024 CUSP-GX 900X – Guided Studies)
Jiayi is currently a master’s student in Applied Urban Science & Informatics at CUSP NYU. Feiyang is currently a Master’s student at the Center for Urban Science and Progress at NYU’s Tandon School of Engineering, where she combines her passion for transportation with spatial analytics and artificial intelligence. Her personal experience as a road cyclist has informed her academic research into urban commuting patterns driving her commitment to developing safe and efficient urban systems.
