5 Ways to Live NYUGreen:

Group of people iconNYU is committed to making our campuses healthier and more sustainable places to work, learn, and live. Join us! The Student Sustainability Guide includes ways to get involved, expand your knowledge, and take action every day to improve your health and impact on the environment.

  • Get moving – Stroll through one of NYU’s green spaces, explore the city by bike, and consider taking the stairs if you can. These are all sustainability measures that also improve your physical and mental health.
  • Reuse – NYU does not distribute single-use plastic water bottles, bags, and straws. So, make sure to take reusables like a water bottle, bag, or utensil set with you on the go! NYUGreen reusable giveaways are regularly available at Office of Sustainability events and programs, and through social media. You can also get reusable to-go containers from Third North and Downstein.
  • Power down – turn off lights and power down fans, air conditioning, and electronics when they are not in use.
  • Get involved – Join a student organization, attend an event, or apply for a Green Grant. Stay up-to-date with sustainability news and events. Did you know NYU will achieve carbon neutrality by 2040? Help make that goal a reality by participating in activities to live like it’s the year 2040 and catalyze action towards our sustainable future. Learn more about 2040 Now.
