P Dev post 1: mindmap, mood boards, and start of development

I think due to not being there for the first class, I’m having a bit of trouble understanding the 4 parts of the ideation process. And that happened after the mind map was done. I think I’ve done “topic” and “attribute” somewhat correctly, but the other two I’m having trouble wrapping my head around (either that or I don’t have a clear sense of what “device” I’m going to use because it’s a collage type project and it highly depends on what topic I’m going for, and also, since my idea for now is more about “developing a technique” rather than “making art”, it might not have to have a “device”?).

on to the mood board.

originally I was going for a very much natural aesthetic for my project, lots of natural colored woods, stone, sometimes concrete and glass. its very much about showing the natural beauty of the materials as much as possible. and then I went into looking at the “recycled material look”, I always find the shredded-plastic look very hard on the eyes, one must be very selective of the colors of the material to make it as natural as possible, it is something im trying to avoid in my project.

I made another board for shapes materials and textures. I have always been interested in looking at cool textural contrasts, I’m not sure how this would help, but my mind kind of wandered here.
