Welcome! I’m Brynn –
I am a medical speech language pathologist and current doctoral student in the Swallowing Research Lab at New York University. I specialize in optimizing health outcomes and quality of life when normal swallowing is disrupted by disease or injury.
My research interests are related to the impact of neurologic injury and trauma on the swallowing mechanism. My current research aims to characterize physiologic changes in swallowing associated with spinal disease and following spinal surgery, including the reliable application of video-fluoroscopic measurement techniques within these populations.
I have over 10 years of clinical experience as a medical speech language pathologist working primarily in acute care and inpatient rehabilitation hospitals. I continue to maintain active clinical practice as a medical speech language pathologist at a local NYC hospital.
