You voted – and we listened! by Elysha Clark Whitney and Julius Utama

Over the course of Welcome Week and the APUG Welcome Luncheon, the OPUS editors and staff polled APUG students about which psychologists they would be most interested in seeing interviewed for the next issue of OPUS. The majority of students voted for Phillip Zimbardo, who conducted the Stanford Prison Experiment. Students were also enthusiastic to interview the following psychologists:

  • Paul Bloom
  • Amy Cuddy
  • Howard Gardner
  • Carol Gilligan
  • Karinn Glover
  • Daniel Kahneman
  • Brian Little
  • Walter Mischel
  • Martin Seligman
  • Mary Watkins
  • Brian L. Weiss

Students also expressed interested in learning more about psychologists such as Sigmund Freud, Ivan Pavlov and B.F. Skinner. It is, however, logistically impossible to interview these seminal contributors to the field; their, contributions, however, are timeless, and it is great to hear that there is a lot of enthusiasm for their work within the APUG community.

Nonetheless, one could certainly keep these names in mind for any future Blog posts ðŸ™‚ As the semester progresses, we’d love to see posts with your thoughts on these researchers, or anyone else in the field that intrigues or interests you.
