Our next OPUSzine spotlight features our wonderful 2019-2020 Editors-in-Chief!
The role of EIC is a dynamic one: they are responsible for selecting high caliber papers for the issue, providing writers support and feedback on their work, supervising the e-board and OPUSzines, organizing workshops for students, managing the budget, and creating social media campaigns to promote OPUS.
For the 2019-2020 term, we have two Editors-in-Chief: Oana Groza and Andrew Han.
Oana is a senior studying Global Public Health & Applied Psychology. She joined OPUS to “gain more experience in writing and editing. The entire process has been very challenging at times but also very rewarding and fruitful. I am grateful for this experience as it has taught me how to quickly but carefully read academic papers and identify areas of improvement while also helping me peers. I am excited to begin my professional career and I know that the skills I have learned prepared me well!”
Andrew is a senior on the honors track studying Global Public Health & Applied Psychology with a minor in Sociology. Andrew joined OPUS to “strengthen my writing skills and support the process of conducting my honors thesis. By reading and helping other students’ work, I was able to integrate spending time with my peers while also learning about the intricate process of writing an academic paper. I also discovered during my time in OPUS that I’d like to pursue a career in research and academia!”
Stay tuned to see who our 2020-2021 EICs will be!
