So long, Stress!
It’s that time of the semester again, where midterms plague all students and just the mere mention of 12 page papers leaves chills running down spines. As college students, we are no strangers to the inconvenience of stress. After reading through stress-related articles, I found some insights into the processes of stress from an APA article on “How Stress Affects Your Health.”
It turns out that stress can often lead to feelings of overwhelming anxiety. While it may seem hopeless at times, relieving and managing stress is essential to leading a healthy lifestyle. It’s always easy to say “don’t feel stressed” or the ever-popular “just be happy, quit worrying so much.” Of course, each person deals with stress differently, whether it be taking some time off from your sources of stress, to belting out karaoke tracks, to taking a steaming hot bath. We should remember that each and every step taken towards self-care is valid as we all get through these midterms.
