A talk on Recent Advances in Nonlinear Inviscid Damping given by Nader Masmoudi (Courant Institute NYU New York and research center SITE NYU Abu Dhabi) on June 9, 2020 to the One World PDE Seminar – view talk |
Nader reviewed some recent results dealing with inviscid damping. These results include the optimality of the Gevrey regularity required to get the damping as well as the generalization to more general monotone flows. |
A talk on COVID-19: Data-Driven Modelling given by Tembine Hamidou (NYU Abu Dhabi) on May 18, 2020 to NYU Abu Dhabi – view talk |
The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a new disease caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). In this talk we present a nowcasting and a forecasting for COVID-19 spread and its pandemic and economic consequences. The proposed model is based on mean-field-type game-theoretic interaction that integrates the decision-making of the authorities, firms, and individuals together with pandemic aspects on comorbidities (diabetes type 2, hypertension, asthma, high blood pressure) and a testing strategy. The data-driven model incorporates dynamically changing data sets and has been tested successfully in 66 countries. |
