The American Translators Association has approved 5 CE credits for each day of attendance at this year’s Event:

  • 5 CE credits: 7th Annual Translation Studies Research Symposium on Complexity and Translation: Friday, October 20, 2017 10:00AM-3:30PM
  • 5 CE credits: 2nd Annual Translation Day Symposium on Saturday, October 21, 2017 from 10:00AM to 4:00PM

Trustforte Language Service Hiring Full-Time Translators

 Trustforte Language Services is a long-established translation company working primarily in the immigration sector.

At this time, we are looking for translators to work on translation of personal, financial and academic documents into English, as well as proofread legal, patent and medical documents.

The following language pairs are required: Native/Almost-Native German<>English,  French<>English OR Spanish<>English

And at least 1 or 2 other languages pairs (Dutch-English, Portuguese-English, Arabic-English, preferred).

This is an entry-level/junior-level, full-time position perfect for translation/language students. The candidate must be motivated, be able to work in a team, take initiative, be a quick learner, and have a professional attitude.

Requirements:

Must be fluent in English and at least 2 other languages

BA or MA in translation preferred. Degree in other fields are advantageous.

Previous experience working in/studying translation.

Excellent written and reading skills.

Ability to interpret a plus.

Proficiency in MS Word

Live in NY or NJ for easy commute

Benefits: Generous time off, annual bonuses and raises, medical insurance

We’re very pleased to forward this opportunity for translation and interpretation researchers from the American-Scandinavian Foundation. Please see the announcement below:
The American-Scandinavian Foundation (ASF) is pleased to announce that it is accepting applications for Fellowships and Grants for the 2018/19 academic year. Individuals from all disciplines are welcome to apply!  Please share this information with faculty and students in your department.
The deadline for applications is November 1, 2017.
Awards for Research/Study in Scandinavia
The ASF offers awards to American students, scholars, professionals and artists for study and/or research in Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway or Sweden. Fellowships of up to $23,000 are intended to support an academic year-long stay, and priority is given to students at the graduate level who need to spend time at foreign academic or research institutions. Grants of up to $5,000 are considered more suitable for shorter research visits, both on the graduate or post-doctoral level. Funding is available to candidates in all fields.

Grants and Awards for Scandinavians
The ASF also awards fellowships and grants to Scandinavians. These are made on the recommendation of ASF’s cooperating organizations abroad, with each country setting its own deadline. Contact information for the ASF’s cooperating organizations in Scandinavia can be found on the ASF website.
Grants for Visiting Lecturers from Norway
The American-Scandinavian Foundation invites U.S. colleges and universities to apply for funding to host a visiting lecturer from Norway. The $20,000 awards are for appointments of one semester. Lectureships should be in the areas of: public policy, conflict resolution, health care, environmental studies or multiculturalism. Application Deadline: February 15, 2018
