Congratulations to our beloved Cayla Delardi who, after over five years with the Center of Applied Liberal Arts, will spend her last day with us today, Friday Oct 8. Cayla has accepted a new position at the Department of Music in the College of Arts and Science, NYU, as a Department Administrator. They are so lucky, we are beyond delighted by Cayla’s promotion, but also we will miss you so much!
Here are a few reasons why Cayla will be missed from some of her adoring, and very appreciative colleagues:
I wish I could clone you and share you with the world and say to everyone, “This is a great example of our youth!” Your work ethics have always been beyond the call of duty. Always a smile, always great in-put for the department, always there for everyone. I wish you the absolute best in your career. Go out there and get what you want out of life! I am your biggest fan! – Ken French
Cayla is a constellation all her own. The stars that comprise her are all equally bright and twinkle with skill, incisive intellect, and compassion. The authenticity, humility, and respect that infuses every interaction I’ve had with her shine. She’s the person you want in the room for the important conversations because she has a way of seeing what everyone else doesn’t. I’ll miss her dearly in our CALA room, but it has been made so much richer by the years she spent in it. – Suzanne Kaplan-Fonseca
Cayla! Please come back and visit us as a special guest star on Zoom. You are the best and we will miss you so much. Wishing you all good things in this next phase. – Dr. Eve Mayer
It pains me to process that you’re no longer a part of our office dynamic. Please do not forget me if you’re ever on campus and plan to catch a viewing of Drag Race in the neighborhood! I will be there in a moment’s notice. Going to miss the heck out of you, Cayla! Wishing you all the success that you rightfully deserve – Jervon Mercier
Our Namesake is leaving us but we will always think of you when we say CALA! Afua Preston
Oh, Cayla! What a privilege and an honor it has been to work with you. How much you have taught me over the years and how integral you have become to CALA. What will CALA be without our CAYLA? You are leaving us in a much better place than you found us and I will be eternally grateful for all your hard work, your innovation, your intelligence, but, above all, your incredible spirit. We will miss you so much but I will always cherish the work we did together. I look forward to watching your stunning career. (And I’ll keep you posted on that orchid!) All my very best, Jenny McPhee
We’ll miss you. You know it. You rock!
