The Swiss art gallery, Hauser & Wirth Menorca, located on a small island in Spain, has turned the small village it resides in into a highly sought-after art destination and lifestyle experience. Opened in 2014, the gallery attracted more than 100,000 visitors prior to the COVID-19 pandemic. While there are other galleries that parallel Hauser & Wirth, there seem to be distinct traits that allow the specific location to stand out. CALA’s Clayton Press – instructor, professional art advisor, and regular Forbes contributor – comments on the mega-gallery, explaining that it has “taken a lead amongst its peers by aggressively expanding its program to include distinguished female and Black artists”.
