If there’s one good thing to come out of the pandemic, it’s the abundance of podcasts. More and more people are using podcasts to tell their stories, most of them from the comfort of their own homes, but podcasting has actually been an important mode of information long before Covid took its toll.
Dan Bobkoff, who instructs Podcasting, Radio Reporting, and Storytelling at NYU CALA, recently told The Wall Street Journal that demand for his class has led him to offer it six times a year, with students varying from professors and college kids to dentists and retirees.
“I love the class because it’s so diverse, in every sense of the term,” Bobkoff, who is also the executive producer for podcasts at Axios, told WSJ.
Bobkoff’s podcasting classes haven’t come to a halt because of the pandemic either: sections will be offered in April, June and July of 2021 online via Zoom. You may register for either month here.
While all you need for podcasting is a microphone and perhaps a laptop with stable internet connection, learning from the professionals can help boost your skills and potentially secure more listeners. The earliest section will begin on April 6, and the course may also satisfy requirements for CALA’s Certificate in Storytelling.
