Put your creativity hats on — Words Without Borders (WWB) currently has open applications for a part-time editorial fellow! The online literary magazine specializes in international literature — see some of WWB’s recent issues here — and it’s Editorial Fellowship Program is an opportunity for early career-publishing professionals to get hands-on experience with a nonprofit organization.
As an editorial fellow, you will work alongside experienced editors and gain knowledge of issue planning, editing literature in translation and even content promotion. You will also have creative freedom to propose, commission, and edit features for the WWB blog, along with pitching ideas for future magazine issues.
The minimum qualification for candidates is a Bachelor’s degree, but those interested should look here to see if they fit the role. This is a remote, paid opportunity ($16/hour) starting in September and running nine months.
Applications are due March 26, 2021 at 12pm EST.
From WWB:
To apply, please submit the following materials to jobs@wordswithoutborders.org with the subject line “Editorial Fellowship Application”:
1) A thoughtful cover letter that outlines relevant skills and experiences and explains how the position aligns with your professional goals.
2) A résumé.
3) A three- to five-page writing sample, plus a link to any relevant multimedia or editorial work (if applicable); both published and unpublished work are acceptable.
DEADLINE: March 26, 2021 at noon ET.
