Nearly 100 works of different mediums created by 13 Iranian women artists who began working after the country’s 1979 revolution will be on display at the opening night of “A Bridge Between You and Everything” on Friday, November 8th, and running until November 24th. Before the opening event the exhibition’s curator, renowned visual artist Shirin Neshat, will be leading a free-of-charge panel discussion at NYU’s Hemmerdinger Hall. Partial proceeds will benefit the Center for Human Rights in Iran.
In an interview with the Center, Neshat said, “At a time when the Western world is shining a spotlight on women’s issues and equality, it’s vital that we use this moment of the public imagination to empower dialogues from women and immigrant artists who have, and likely still continue to experience forms of repression, both in the extreme and every day.”
Some of the artists involved are Ala Dehghan, Afruz Amighi, Afsoon, Bahar Sabzevari, Hadieh Shafie, Laleh Khorramian, Nazanin Noroozi.
