Rowling’s wizarding world in their respective languages.

Harry Potter has been translated into more than 80 languages! How was this achieved? In this program we will discover how J.K Rowling’s Wizarding World, full of new words and fanciful concepts, was adapted into diverse languages and cultures. Join moderator Arthur Levine, American editor of the Harry Potter series, as he discusses the rewards and challenges of translating Harry Potter from British to American English and far beyond. Gemma Rovira from Spain, Victor Morozov from Ukraine, and Yuko Matsuoka Harris from Japan will share stories of translating into their respective languages and offer unique insights about the path to translating the world of Harry Potter.
