Student Work from last Fall’s Printmaking Course
An easy way to create prints without a press is by using linoleum blocks, which can be found in most art supply or craft stores. An initial drawing gets transferred and then carved onto the linoleum. Different water-based inks can be used to make multiple prints from one image. Students in Claire Rosenfeld’s Fall 2016 course PRINTMAKING BY HAND: LINOLEUM CUTS, COLLAGRAPHS, AND MONOTYPES, many of whom were first-time print-makers, demonstrate the variety and versatility of this technique.
