Professor Mary Beth Altier was in conversation with J.M. Berger about his new book “Extremism” at the New America Foundation in Washington DC on September 21, 2018. The event, “Extremism: What is it and How Does it Relate to Violence?” discusses how we should define extremism and radicalization, the relationship between extremism and violence, and whether extremism is necessarily always a bad thing. Professor Waheguru Pal Singh Sidhu curated and moderated a day-long training module for mid-level Indian diplomats at the Consulate General of India, New York on 22 September 2018. The program focused on three issues crucial to India: the role of the Indian diaspora in the US; the perspective of Wall Street on the investment climate in India; and the role of India in multilateralism in general and the United Nations in particular. The speakers included Ambassador Syed Akbaruddin, the Permanent Representative of India to the United Nations.
