Starbucks is the largest coffee chain in the world. Many of its 400,000 employees would like to have a chance to ask questions on a one-on-one to Aaron Koransky, Executive Leader, Starbucks. Join this session to do just that. As Head of Siren Group, Aaron is responsible for the Retail business including Roasteries, Reserve and the Starbucks Reserve brand. Roastery is the most dynamic, immersive retail experience the industry has ever seen,” Chairman Howard Schultz once said.
Previously, Aaron led Starbucks’s strategic business relationship, the market development strategy across diverse business segments outside of owned stores. Aaron’s scope includes the creation of a long-term strategic plan for the business coupled with the development of innovation and the operationalizing of key initiatives uniquely required of our licensees’ portfolios.
Aaron began his career with Starbucks in 2003 as a financial analyst here in Seattle. Over the course of the last 20 years with Starbucks he has held roles in relationship and business development across multiple industry segments, ultimately transforming and growing that portfolio to a multi-billion-dollar business. Aaron’s approach ensured Starbucks was viewed as a strategic partner, not just a licensor. Additional experiences and roles at Starbucks included program & concept development, leading a highly cross-functional group ranging from Strategy & Innovation, Marketing & Category, Data & Insights, Digital Business Services, Equipment Development, and Operational Services.
Aaron is also a part of the executive team supporting Starbucks Pride Alliance. The discussion was moderated by George Benaroya Global CFO and Adjunct Professor at NYU SPS.

Finance for Marketing Decisions
This is part of the Finance for Marketing Decisions class taught by Benaroya. In this class, students learn about Finance by choosing a company and acting as if they were the company’s financial executives. Each week, they decide whether to increase prices, reduce headcount, go public, and expand into new markets. Senior executives join as Guest Speakers to share how they make business and career decisions.
