NYU Swallowing Research Lab

In the NYU Swallowing Research Lab, we conduct research about healthy and disordered swallowing (also known as dysphagia). The lab is led by Dr. Sonja Molfenter, a clinically-trained speech language pathologist. Much of the lab’s research focuses on biomechanics changes to swallowing in various health-related conditions. NYU SRL research has been funded by the National Institutes of Health, the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, the NYU CTSA grant and the NYU Mega Grants fund.
