I am the Inaugural Robert S. Salant Endowed Associate Professor at the Department of Physical Therapy at NYU. My research focuses on the assessment and management of chronic musculoskeletal disease. As a licensed physical therapist with doctoral and post-doctoral research training, I have extensive expertise in motion capture, inverse dynamics, kinematic modeling of the foot, assessment of muscle strength and patient-reported outcomes.
I currently hold affiliated appointments at the Department of Orthopedic Surgery, NYU Grossman and Biomedical Engineering at NYU Tandon, and am a Fellow of the Aging Incubator, emphasizing the highly cross-disciplinary and collaborative nature of my work. I serve or have previously served as a PI on funded projects examining movement-related impairments in individuals with chronic musculoskeletal disease such as diabetes and osteoarthritis, I also have substantial experience running mechanistic clinical trials examining exercise-induced adaptations. Findings of these studies have been extensively disseminated in the form of manuscripts and continuing education.
