Standard studies are studies that are conducted in a completely transparent manner. They inform participants at the beginning of a study that the study is an examination of human behavior. Throughout the study, researchers truthfully inform participants of the mechanisms and procedures related to the study. Typical examples of such studies are experiments related to language processing or investigations involving economic games.
If you decide to participate in research at SHBEEL, you will be asked to take part in a series of computer-based exercises in which you will make one or more economic decisions. For example, you will be asked to react using a computer mouse to different visual stimuli that appear on the screen as well as respond to sound stimuli that you hear. You will be given detailed information and make certain decisions seated at a computer workstation in a room that is part of the behavior and experimental economics lab.
