The studies they work on span a multitude of disciplines such as economics, linguistics, political science, or psychology. Researcher’s success often depends upon the involvement of interested participants, and the NYU Shanghai community is grateful for your participation in our ongoing research. In completing the registration process, you are now eligible to receive invitations from NYU Shanghai faculty and student researchers to participate in their paid studies. Registering at this time, does not sign you up for a specific study and you are under no obligation at any point to accept any invitations sent to you after registration. If you are invited to participate in a study, it is your decision to choose whether or not you would like to participate. By signing up for this database you are NOT giving up any rights. Registering will only ask you to provide basic demographic and contact information that can be accessed by our researchers as they recruit participants for their studies.
All researchers who have access to this database are obligated to conduct their studies in accordance with the ethical procedures established by the NYU Shanghai Human Subjects Protection Program. This database will not be shared with anyone unaffiliated with NYU Shanghai unless that individual’s involvement in a project has been approved by NYU Shanghai.
Recruiting System for Experiments
SHBEEL uses SONA systems to manage registrations for experiments. This self-service system allows you to register your interest, view a calendar of upcoming experiments, and sign up for specific experiments.
Before you decide to register with us, please make sure you have read our privacy policy, statement of participant rights, and information of our standard study. By registering for the SONA system you agree that you have read and understood both the privacy policy and the statement of participant rights. Once you have requested an account, you’ll receive an automated email with login details.

Once registered on the SONA Systems Research Management system, you will be added to a mailing list of people who are interested in receiving emails inviting them to take part in experiments.
