Participants’ privacy is our number one priority.
- The workstation cubicles in the lab provide a degree of privacy for participants that prevents potentially unwanted visibility or social contact with other participants.
- If there are more than two participants in one session, participants will be paid in private so that no public comparison between compensation can be made without participant consent.
- All personal and identifiable data collected during studies will be kept confidential unless you give the researcher permission to do otherwise. Your privacy will be safeguarded.
The confidentiality of your research records and identity will be strictly maintained.
- No information including email addresses will be linked to research records regarding the decisions you make during a session.
- Identification information only appears on consent forms. These forms will be locked in a secure location for three years after the completion of the study and will then be destroyed.
- To preserve the anonymity of the data, each person is assigned a random code number that will be used to keep track of data produced by the experiment.
- No records are kept that would allow subjects’ names or identities to be matched with the data codes.
- Results from a study appearing in any presentation or publication will only include group results, and no personal identification information will ever be used.
