Applicants will need to submit the following items via the application portal:

Tentative questions (~3-5 sentences each):
- What interests you about this program? What would you hope to get out of participating?
- Do you have research or clinical interests in the fields of communication sciences and disorders or related areas (e.g., neuroscience, psychology, linguistics)? Please describe. This question is about what you’re interested in, not necessarily what you’ve done before.
- What is the most interesting thing you have learned so far about communication sciences and disorders or a related field (e.g., neuroscience, psychology, linguistics)? This can be something you learned in a class but can also be something you’ve learned from something you’ve read, from the media, or from personal experience.
2) One (1) letter of recommendation:
- Applicants will be prompted to submit the name and email address of the individual they would like to write a letter of recommendation on their behalf.

Were or currently are homeless, as defined by the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act

Were eligible for the Federal Free and Reduced Lunch Program for two or more years;

Have/had no parents or legal guardians who completed a bachelor’s degree (see the U.S. Department of Education);

Were or currently are eligible for Federal Pell grants;

Received support from the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children as a parent or child;

Grew up in one of the following areas: a) a U.S. rural area, as designated by the Health Resources and Services Administration Rural Health Grants Eligibility Analyzer, or b) a Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services-designated Low-Income and Health Professional Shortage Areas (qualifying zip codes are included in the file). Only one of the two possibilities in #7 can be used as a criterion for the disadvantaged background.
